Material and Labor costs are evaluated per square foot. Andek materials are very competitively priced. Most hotels pay for the cost of the materials by the labor savings that come from applying the roof coatings themselves instead of using expensive roofing contractors. Since Andek products can be applied any time of the year re-roofing can be worked into the schedule of your existing maintenance staff. Andek products can be applied a few hours here and a few hours there, they don't have to be done all at once. Since most hotels apply Andek products with their existing staff they have no added labor expenses. Their only real cost is the materials.

Energy Savings are often an overlooked benefit. You can recoup the expense of Andek's RAC coating in as little as 2 years in air conditioned buildings. We know of many hotels that have applied reflective coatings. Most of these products only carry a three year warranty and they are only a reflective coating. Since it takes 2 years to recoup the cost your hotel would only realize a real energy savings one year in three. RAC provides real energy savings 8 out of every 10 years. Andek's roofing coating is reflective and a fire retardent. You get a single product that has three applications for the price of one. Since it takes the same amount of time to apply either product wouldn't you rather have the benefit of three coatings and a 10 year warranty? (When you are looking at energy and labor savings don't forget the labor savings in only having to apply RAC to an area of roof every 10 years.) Per a study by the US Department of Energy reflective coatings extend the life of a roof by 3-5 years. Ultraviolet rays are very damaging to roofs without reflective coatings. (Incidentally, competing reflective coatings have a tendency to peel and flake as they age. This requires extensive cleaning before the surface can be re-coated. Andek's least expensive reflective coating, Silverfilm, has a five year warrantee against peeling, flaking or rusting through on metal roofs.)

Roof Life (warranty) is where Andek products really shine. We have not found another roof coating that can be applied by your own staff over a variety of existing roof surfaces that has more than a three year warranty. Andek's RAC HAS A 10 YEAR WARRANTEE with a 20 year life expectancy. (An added step can give you a 20 year warranty.)

Bonus Savings: RAC can be re-applied to most roofs every 10 years so you will never suffer the expense of having to tear off the roof and dispose of it. (Most "hot tar" and gravel roofs have to be replaced after every two applications because of their weight.)

Savings Summary: Proper non-destructive testing, using a Dec Scanner, before you repair your roof will identify which areas need to be repaired first. Next, set up a preventive maintenance schedule based on the age of your roof. If it has not been replaced for a long time you may need to coat the entire roof over 2-3 years. If your roof is relatively new simply divide it into 10 equal sections, determine the square footage of each section and then purchase the Andek product you need for the first section. Purchase a small quantity of Rubberkote 1047 to apply anytime a leak occurs and the roof is wet. Have your maintenance staff apply the products by brush, roller, trowel or airless sprayer. Then sit back, start to realize energy savings, and the secure feeling that you won't have to replace this roof again.
