Follow Up to Securemploy Pinpoint Ads

OK, you have submitted your resume in response to a Securemploy Pinpoint ad. What do you need to do next? The answer varies:

You submitted your resume, had a phone interview and have an in-person interview scheduled.
You submitted your resume for a position but didn't get the job offer.

If an in-person interview has been scheduled:

Call your Securemploy contact and let them know when you will be going for the interview. Then review the sections on Interviewing Tips and Work Reference Questions To Ask. Your objective in every interview is to get a job offer, even if you decide you don't want the job.

Immediately following your interview take a few minutes to write down your impressions of the interview. What did you like about the position? Was the physical condition of the property or office up to your standards? Which areas of the job you need additional information on? What things did you forget to mention about yourself during the interview? Did you answer any questions in a way that could have confused the potential employer (if so clarify your answer as an attachment to your Thank You Note)? What are the three most important parts of the job you interviewed for? Etc.

Call your Securemploy contact and let them know whether or not you are interested in pursuing the position further. (Securemploy is not a placement or search firm, but they do talk to clients frequently and can tell the client that you are interested in their position.)

You submitted your resume but didn't get a job offer.

You may or may not have even received a phone call. We wish every potential employer would at least drop candidates a post-card to let candidates know the outcome. Unfortunately, most hotels and companies do not do that.

If you have not heard within 7-10 days of submitting your resume, odds are you won't hear. The potential employer has decided other candidates come closer to their job requirements than you do. Accept that! You and Securemploy may both feel that you are the only qualified candidate in the world for that position, it doesn't matter. If the client doesn't view your resume that way it is a dead issue. (You may want to review your resume presentation against the criteria explained in Your Securemploy Career Empowerment Kit to make sure that you are presenting yourself professionally and competitively to your peers.)

Rest assured that as long as Securemploy has your current address they will continue to send you Securemploy Pinpoint Ads when clients purchase ads that reasonably fit your background and geographic area.
